In Oct 2025, we will carry out the largest Space simulation mission of it’s kind: 1 mission, multiple habitats, collaborative research. To answer the question, “how will we live and work in Space as a community?” What is an Analog? Preparing for Space by simulating missions on Earth Analogous (comparable) to a real space mission We tackle challenges that may occur in space by simulating them in unique locations on Earth. “The gateway to the Moon is through Analogs” - NASA Uniting the World’s Space Analogs We are supporting and raising awareness for new and existing analog’s globally. We are creating a global education program that aims to target underserved communities. We are collecting data from the largest and most diverse set of analog astronauts in history. Making this data available as a resource for researchers worldwide. What is the WBA? Secondary goal: Raising awareness via media and to educate online & in schools. Habitats will be split between Moon based and Mars based. This will be the largest Space analog mission carried out in history and the only one simulating multiple outposts, making WBA the first of its kind. Why are we doing the WBA? Raise awareness about analogs. Gather information about existing missions and habitats, so that researchers, gov agencies and others understand the fidelity and capabilities of each habitat as a research platform. Applying research standards makes the data collected more useful to space agencies and researchers. Provide a global research platform for the first time. Develop protocols and professionalise the industry. To assist up and coming habitats/missions, so more countries can be involved. To engage and collaborate as a community and push the boundaries of what we can achieve together. Open better communication lines between active players. Minimise duplicate research. Highlight the potential of the habitats and analog missions. Who is part of the WBA? Advance habitats Independent habitats MICO Vienna 60+ analog astronaut crew candidates Education/outreach - the general public Researchers 100+ volunteers
The space industry is on its way to $1 trillion in revenue by 2040.
